Name: Ashstar
Clan: RiverClan
Position: Leader
Gender: She-cat
Age: Twenty Moons
Family:
Shadestar ~ Father (Deceased)
Silentstep ~ Mother (Deceased)
Frostwind ~ Brother
Description: Ashstar is a smokey gray she-cat that looks almost black from a distance. She looks much like her father, Shadestar, in that she is a dark gray color. During leafbare her coat is long and thick, which keeps her quite warm. In greenleaf, her fur becomes short and a little whispy, which keeps her cool. Toward the back of her body she has a lighter gray color which really only shows during the night hours, in the reflection of the moonlight. Last but not least are her eyes. They are a brilliant seafoam greenish color just like her mother's were. Overall she is a very pretty she-cat who is almost the spitting image of her father.
Personality: Ashstar may be a very young leader, but she is a kind and caring she-cat who would risk her life to save another cat. She grew up being the leader's kit, and knew from watching her father that it wasn't an easy job to have. She tends to be a bit stubborn and has issues with something if it doesn't go the way she planned. Ashstar is very brilliant, something that she doesn't show too often, but when she does watch out! Since she is young, she tends to lean on advice from her senior warriors quite often. She thinks it is hilarious that her brother, Frostwind, is so overprotective of her when she is the one always trying to protect him. Frostwind always saw her as one that needed protection, but she quickly proved him wrong. Some cats say that the brother/sister duo are like Yin and Yang. Not only do their pelts differ, but so does their personalities. Ashstar does have some self-doubt issues, in that she was the right cat to lead the clan, and is reminded constantly by her brother that she has the potential to be a great leader, just like their father.
History: Ashstar was born into RiverClan the youngest of two kits. Her mother, Silentstep, was a mute she-cat who had never spoken a word in her life. Silentstep was able to communicate by the use of her tail and drawings she created using her claws and dirt. Her father, Shadestar, was the leader of the clan and was a devote and proud clan leader. When Frostkit and Ashkit were born, it was the greatest day for their parents. There had been a shortage of surviving kits and both parents hoped that the two would survive. Ashkit had always been the smaller of the two, the one most likely to get sick. Frostkit would never leave her sight and kept encouraging her.
The day of their apprentice ceremony both kits were struck with a blow. Silentstep and the kits were inside the nursery, the queen licking each kit with pride. A dark figure crept into the nursery and killed Silentstep, leaving both kits speechless. Ashkit was full of rage and charged after the figure, only to be struck down and injured. Frostkit managed to drag his little sister out of the way and the dark figure went back into the darkness. Little Ashkit suffered from not only mental pain, from losing her mother, but also was wounded badly by whatever it was that had attacked them. The kits apprentice ceremony was delayed for a few days so that they could bury their mother. Ashkit stayed in the medicine cat's den for nearly a moon, recovering from the attack, but was able to say goodbye to her mother. Shadestar had carried the little kit out of the den for a few moments, but no more than that.
Ashkit watched her brother become Frostpaw, but was not quite strong enough to become an apprentice herself. One moon later she became Ashpaw, her wounds completely healed.
She proved to be quite a pawful to her mentor and pushed herself so she could catch up with Frostpaw. Ashpaw was determined to not give up. She finally had caught up to her brother, something no cat thought she could accomplish, after all he had been a full moon ahead of her in training.
The two were made warriors together, after several long moons of training.
Shortly after they were made warriors, Frostwind and Ashwhisker were given apprentices of their own.
Just like they were trained together, the two trained their apprentices together.
Their apprentices were made warriors themselves, and Frostwind became ill. Ashwhisker spent all the time she could being with her brother, like he was for her when she was hurt.
The sickness soon spread throughout the camp, several dying from the illness including the deputy.
Shadestar appointed Ashwhisker as his new deputy when she was nineteen moons old. It was an honor to be her father's deputy, but she also felt a little apprehensive about it, since she thought Frostwind deserved it, after all he was the older of the two. Frostwind assured her that he was fine with just being a warrior and that she was the best cat for the job, even if she was quite young.
Frostwind soon was over the sickness, but the siblings soon recieved something they never wanted to have. Their father, Shadestar, lost several lives to the sickness, and was killed leaving Ashwhisker to be in charge of the clan.
And so Ashwhisker became Ashstar. The she-cat has led the clan for almost half a moon now, and looks toward the help of her senior warriors when she is in doubt. Her brother also plays a big part in helping her. Some may consider her too young and incapable of being leader, but she has proven so far that she can handle it.
Example Of RPing: Ashstar let out a sigh as she looked up towards the sky. Her thoughts drifted to something that she had lost a half moon prior to this day. It was the half moon anniversary of her father's death. Now if that didn't cheer anyone up...sarcasm is such a funny thing, but not to this she-cat. Sarcasm was cruel, and something that she wished could go away. "Father." she murmered, remembering the scent and the sight of her dead father. "How am I suppose to lead your clan when I am lost without you?" she wondered.
Her attention was stirred from the sky when she heard the voice of a tom, which had actually somewhat suprised her. Snowstorm shook the thoughts from her head as she looked at Frostwind. "I'm guessing you overheard my doubts?" she questioned. The white tom nodded in response.
"You really are just like our father. Besides, you were the one who was daddy's little girl." Frostwind joked, swiping a paw across his sister's ear. "Just remember I believe in you, and I bet both mom and dad do too."
Ashstar couldn't help but smile. "Thanks, I really need that."
