Ashstar nodded, she knew exactly what he was talking about. "You might be the one cat that understands me more than I do." she purred. "We need to get you back to camp, and let Icecloud check your wound." she murmered, licking his shoulder one last time. "Those apprentices did very well, I better go tell them how well they fought." Ashstar said glancing toward the camp.

"All right," Whitestone meowed. He lifted one of his paws to quickly wash it. "The apprentices did great. I hope they're going to be all right," he murmured. He limped towards the cat, trying to make out the pale outline of the medicine cat den. It'll be so good to be back at the camp. Icecloud can see to my wounds, and I won't have to worry anymore... Ashstar nodded, they had to be alright. At least her brother and Whitestone were okay. That had her mind at ease for a little bit. The apprentices would be alright too, it was good battle experience for them, right? She followed Whitestone back to camp, looking back at the place where they had fought the fox for a moment before looking back to camp. "See me in my den when you are done." she purred. The she-cat padded to find the apprentices.

Whitestone nodded, and limed over to Icecloud's den. He poked his head inside. "Icecloud?" he mewed. I hope she's in there, he thought. I need to get this over with. He continued to look around, and was pretty close to thinking she wasn't there. Since the medicine cat den was so big, it could be hard to spot the actual medicine cat.

"Yes?" Icecloud asked, poking her head out of the den. Her piercing, murky green gaze quickly scanned the warrior. She noticed that he was hurt--obviously, otherwise he wouldn't be seeing her--and walked back into her den to get some cobwebs, a few poppyseeds, and a bit of marigold. "How'd you get hurt?" The medicine cat beckoned Whitestone into her den with a flick of her tail and picked up a cobweb in her jaws, preparing to press it on one of the warrior's wounds. Her narrow shoulders shook slightly as a cold wind blew into the den. The fur of a RiverClan cat was typically better for shedding water than shielding them from the cold.

"There was a fox in RiverClan territory," Whitestone replied. It felt great to have the cobwebs pressed on his shoulder – it stopped the bleeding, although his shoulder still hurt. "Three apprentices, Lotuspaw, Ivypaw, and Applepaw managed to fight it off, while Ashstar and I just stood there. I'm really proud of them – do you mind thanking them for it?" He knew if he tried to approach them, nothing would work. He was just a plain old warrior – he wouldn't mean much to them. "And Ashstar..." His voice trailed off, looking up at Icecloud. "A fox?" Icecloud meowed, surprised. "I'll definitely have to commend the apprentices, definitely...here, have a poppyseed..." She rolled a seed pod out in front of Whitestone and stopped holding the cobwebs on his shoulder. The medicine cat then proceeded to chew a poultice of marigold, placed it on his wound, and pressed some fresh cobwebs over the spot. "Are the apprentices all right? And what about Ashstar?" She raised her eyebrow suspiciously, as though the warrior was keeping a secret from her. Of course, he was entitled to keep secrets, but if the leader had lost a life or been injured in any other way, she had a right to know. She had a duty to know.

"Nothing's wrong. I guess it's a bit personal," Whitestone replied, taking the small black seed. "You go ahead and ask her later. She asked me to come see her about it. Anyway, my shoulder is feeling better already," he said. It still hurt a little, but the bleeding had stopped, much like a kit's mewling if he was offered to play outside. He started to pad out of the medicine den, looking back behind him once or twice.
