Tiny paws kneaded the ground as a tiny kit was crouched down outside the nursery. Her hazel eyes glanced around for a moment before she attempted to jump on her brother. "Dawnkit!" the kit hissed, knocking his sister off with ease.
The little kit looked to the ground, she couldnt play as well as Smokekit could. Dawnkit thought that since he wasn't the biggest of the litter, it meant that she could at least stand a chance. But she didnt count in one factor...her own size. Dawnkit was no bigger than a newborn yet she was three moons old, that she couldnt stand.
This is how her morning had began. The queen had been trying to comfort her youngest kit, Dawnkit, after her brothers had once again ganged up on her and wasn't letting the little kit play. Streamsong had finally cheered the tiny kit up by letting Dawnkit come with her on a trip out of camp. The queen just wanted to stretch her paws and get away from the nursery for a little while. Pebblestripe was handling their sons, right now her only daughter was purring with delight, pouncing on every leaf they encountered on their journey.
Streamsong loved all of her kits, but there was just something about little Dawnkit that made her really feel like a mother. She was the only kit not eating from the fresh-kill pile, and the one most attatched to her. She heard a thud, and laughed as she saw Dawnkit had fallen into a hole. She grabbed the little kit by the scruff and set her by a tree.
"Stay here, and I'll catch a rabbit that you can carry back." Streamsong said, watching the little kit's eyes grow wide with excitement.
Streamsong spotted a rabbit not far away and lowered into a crouching position. It started to move and the she-cat chased after it. But then.....
A huge ginormus tree fell ontop of the she-cat and then horses trampled over it.
Dawnkit was left looking around, wondering where her mother was. "Mommy?" she called out into the woods. The little kit didn't know where she was or anything.
