Shadowstream was going to have Starpaw ready. She was determined to prove that he could become a warrior, and that he was just as good as the other apprentices.
"Looks like your siblings are excited about your catch." she praised Starpaw.
"I'll let you rest until tomorrow, you deserve it. Go ahead and eat, and relax. Tomorrow I'll see just how you are at fighting. Make sure you eat before battle training tomorrow too, you will need as much energy as possible." Shadowstream purred. "Go ahead and go talk to your brother and sisters, I know you want to. And if you ever need anything, I'm here." she purred.

"O-okay." Starpaw stuttered. He could have swore he heard his mentor chuckling as she padded away, though it could have just been the wind. Did I just stutter? He wondered in disbelief. I never stutter! He padded over to his siblings, trying to focus on something besides his stuttering. He could hear Redpaw and Featherpaw discussing what little they knew about battle tactics. Oceanpaw and Icepaw were standing a few paces away from their other siblings, murmuring something that Starpaw didn't catch entirely due to his senses being restrained (because he's in camp). He padded up to his two littlermates that were identical. All he had caught from their murmured conversation was 'Snowpaw'.
"Hey guys." He greeted.
"Hey Starpaw, how was your hunting session?" Oceanpaw asked kindly in her usual soft tone.
"Interesting. Shadowstream is a good mentor." He answered, not quite sure what words he'd use to elaborate.
"That's good." Icepaw mewed.
"I can't wait for my first training session." The two white she-cats mewed simultaneously.
Starpaw was one of the few cats that wasn't freaked out by how Icepaw and Oceanpaw spoke. They tended to say things simultaneously or they'd finish each other's sentences.
